The active ingredient in a P-shot injection is platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a component derived from a sample of your blood. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is the part of the human blood that’s rich in growth factors, the components responsible for your body’s natural healing processes. Procedure

The P-shot treatment is a simple in-office procedure that concludes within 30 minutes. Our nurse practitioners draw a small sample of your blood via a syringe. The blood sample is entered into a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasmas from the other components, which takes a few minutes. In the meantime, the nurse practitioners cleanse the treatment area and apply a numbing gel on the penis to ensure comfort. Once the PRPs are prepared, they’re drawn into a syringe and strategically injected into the penis. You might need 4 to 6 injections.

Downtime

P-shot treatment doesn’t involve any downtime or extended recovery. You can resume your daily activities immediately, though you might experience mild redness, swelling, and irritation for a few days. You should abstain from sex for a few hours.

Results

Most patients start noticing the results within 24 hours, but the results continue improving over several months. The overall results last for around 6 months, following which you can get a maintenance treatment. Your doctor will let you know if you need additional P-shot treatments for optimal results.
