Preparation
Ultherapy doesn’t involve significant preparation. You can follow your regular eating, workout, and work routines before and after the procedure. However, you should remove all the makeup and skincare products from your face for the procedure. And, in some cases, your provider may ask you to temporarily discontinue certain medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
Procedure
Your Ultherapy procedure starts with a comprehensive consultation with our nurse practitioners. They discuss your specific goals and examine your facial tissues to select the ideal treatment areas. They apply the ultrasound gel over the selected treatment areas. The practitioner will use ultrasound imaging to identify the best spots for the treatment, customizing the treatment depth and location as they move the applicator over your skin. You might feel a gentle warmth seeping into your skin as the applicator is moved over your body.
Depending on the treatment area, the procedure may take 30 to 90 minutes. Ultherapy on the upper chest takes around 30 minutes, and it takes around 60 to 90 minutes in the face and neck.
Post-Procedure/ Downtime
Your skin might look red or flushed for a few hours, but there’s no downtime or extended recovery period. You can resume all your daily activities and work immediately after Ultherapy. However, you might experience tenderness, tingling, and swelling for a few hours or days.
Results
You’ll notice the results from Ultherapy in a few days as your body starts producing new collagen fibers. The results continue improving for several weeks or months, as long as your body continues replenishing your skin’s collagen reserves. And the results will start fading away once the natural aging process takes over, which should take several months or a year.
Frequency
Most patients see significant results after a single Ultherapy session. However, in some cases, your cosmetic provider might recommend multiple sessions for optimal results. You can also repeat the treatment once a year to maintain the results.
